Eagle Mapping Ltd. is currently looking for a Field Survey Technician to join our field acquisition team. This is a 3-month seasonal position ideal for a student returning to school in the fall. The Field Survey Technician is responsible for establishing ground control to support aerial LiDAR and photo projects. This will involve setting up GNSS base stations, performing RTK and static GNSS surveys, and will require a thorough understanding of GNSS survey methodology. Extensive field work is required and will include driving on forestry roads and other rough terrain. Off-road driving experience will be extremely helpful. Schedule flexibility will be key, as favourable weather conditions must be taken advantage of, frequently on short notice.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Operate Trimble GNSS receivers to measure ground control points
Establish GNSS base stations and ground control to support acquisition projects
Recording daily survey logs, producing coverage maps and other relevant reports
Assist Field Manager with planning surveys – point locations, driving routes, etc.
Constant communication of project progress and regular safety check-in procedure
Extensive solo travel on back-roads and in remote areas
Required Experience & Skills
Partial or full completion of a Geomatics Engineering or related program
Excellent technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in remote locations for extended durations
Strong work ethic – most field time will be unsupervised
Willingness to work in all weather conditions and environments
Prior survey experience is desirable but not mandatory

Additional requirements / remuneration:
1)Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license
2)Paid 1.5x hourly rate for hours worked over 40/week (Sunday to Saturday)
3)All hotel and meal expenses paid via company credit card or reimbursement
